Whey isolate

More protein per scoop, less lactose and fat

Whey isolate is filtered further than concentrate, so a scoop usually carries more protein and less lactose, fat and carbohydrate. It costs more per kilo. Some packs are 100% isolate; others mix isolate with concentrate — the label order tells you which comes first.

Compare on the label

  • Protein per scoop and per rupee
  • 100% isolate or an isolate + concentrate blend
  • Lactose, sugar and sweetener
  • Batch-test or authenticity check on the pack

Ask a doctor first if…

Lower lactose is not lactose-free for everyone, and it is still milk. People with kidney disease should ask their doctor about extra protein.
